Artist’s Talk – Karl X. Hauser: A Map of Our Catharsis

All are welcome to join us for Karl X. Hauser’s Artist’s Talk, Saturday, November 9th. Starting at 2pm, Hauser will discuss this latest 3D print iteration of his work with Transmission Gallery Manager, TaVee Lee.

Freed from the confines of traditional sculpture making, Hauser’s 3-D prints resonate with his ongoing body of cast metal work, marked by surface textures such as Styrofoam and found bits, now joined by works exuding a sense of inflated puffiness. Past series, such as Balloon Man and the cars, find new play while characters wielding electrical parts make their appearance in this show of Hauser’s new work.

If you’ve never been to an Artist’s Talk, we invite you to come and check one out. Talks can be more or less formal. At Transmission Gallery we have fairly informal talks exploring the themes and process of the art on view in the gallery. Talks generally last about 20-30 minutes followed by a few questions from the audience.
