
We invite visual art galleries, artist workspaces, and retailers who regularly present art to join the Oakland Art Murmur venue community. We offer several annual membership levels, each with a variety of benefits. Have a temporary event or want to trial our membership? We offer a pop-up option. Join us!


Membership Options
Basic Member
- Post your events and exhibitions on the OAM website (+25k visitors annually).
- Your events and exhibitions highlighted a minimum of 3 times per year on OAM’s newsletters and weekly social media postings to over +30k visual arts enthusiasts.
- Your venue/space listed on the OAM website and digital maps.
- Opportunities to welcome new audiences to your venue through OAM programs.
- Opportunities for free press and advertising as they arise and as appropriate.
Partner Member
- Basic Membership plus,
- Guaranteed and prominent event and exhibition highlights for all First Friday monthly emails and social media posts.
- A featured position on our website’s venues list and google map.
- Listed as “Partner” Venue
Pop-Up Event
- Offered to non-members
- Individual event or exhibition featured on weekly social media posts and story.
- Event or exhibition on the OAM website for a period of three months.
- Pop Up Memberships aggregate towards a full membership within the one year period.
Volunteer Exchange for Membership
Volunteering in Lieu of Membership contribution provides your venue the benefits of the Basic Membership. In return you commit to maintain a minimum of 4 hours per month of volunteer support with Oakland Art Murmur.

New Applicants
- Complete the Venue/Space Application here
- As part of our evaluation of your application, we may send a representative to visit you at your arts venue to see how it is set up and learn more about your programming.
- When your application has been approved, you will receive further benefits information.
Annual renew happens every January. Membership fees will be prorated outside of this window.
