Hannah Franco: Poiesis

SLATE is pleased to present Hannah Franco: Poiesis, a solo exhibition of new paintings by abstract artist Hannah Franco. Featuring ten new paintings, Hannah Franco brings her once-hidden washes of color forward as the true subject of the work, revealing a self that had long lived quietly beneath the surface. Honoring the power of softness and vulnerability, Franco pays tribute to the often invisible and systemically undervalued domestic labor and love women have long contributed to their communities.

Franco earned a BFA from Pratt Institute in New York City and studied fresco painting in Florence, Italy, now currently living and working in Oakland, California. She has shown with Oxide Collective in San Francisco and is represented by SLATE Contemporary Gallery in Oakland.
