ARTIST TALK by Lorraine Woodruff-Long

Please join us for an engaging talk by textile artist Lorraine Woodruff-Long. The artist will discuss her creative process and share inspiring stories behind her unique, artistic quilts on display in the Oakland City Center lobby beginning Friday, October 3 through January 9, 2026. ⁠

Using mostly repurposed fabric from clothing and solid cotton fabric, Woodruff-Long creates improvisational quilts with pulsing energy, color and movement. Six of her large-scale quilts will be featured in the exhibition, presented as part of SLATE’s off-site exhibitions program.
