Mighty Mighty studio – artist talk with Constance Moore and E Bond
October 5 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Free
Mighty Mighty Studio is proud to present Material Worlds, a solo exhibition by artist, teacher, and author Constance Moore. This collection of sewn works combines fabric and paper scraps into imagined landscapes and natural forms. Bright fragments of material become water, hills, ground, and peaks; scraps bloom into petals, leaves, and berries. Existing between collage and quilting, the pieces celebrate nature through both close observation and playful imagination, transforming the humble into the extraordinary.
As part of the exhibition, Constance will be in conversation with artist and bookmaker e bond. Together, they will explore art as storytelling and reflect on the ways quilting, stitching, and fabric craft can embody memory, history, and place. With Constance’s new book A language of Stitches: The radical quilts of Rosie Lee Tompkins, Quilt Maker as a touchstone, the discussion will consider how the natural world informs their practices and how creative work offers new ways to connect to ourselves and the world around us.
