Fleurish – Janet Bogardus

Manna Gallery is pleased to announce Fleurish, a solo exhibition by Bay Area artist Janet Bogardus. Known for exploring humanity’s relationship with nature, Bogardus’s new work celebrates the beauty and resilience of botanical life. Shifting from abstracted cityscapes, her recent paintings focus on flowers, leaves, and grasses—symbols of life’s cycles. Inspired by Albrecht Dürer’s meditative studies, these works invite viewers to notice the vibrant details of the natural world. In a time of uncertainty, Bogardus finds comfort in capturing these small, joyful moments from her immediate surroundings. Flowers have long symbolized beauty, fragility, and renewal, and Bogardus’s work resonates with this rich history. Her paintings remind us of nature’s power to regenerate and inspire, offering a poignant reflection on growth and connection in challenging times.
