Savor the Moment | Paintings and Prints of Paris
- This event has passed.
November 21 @ 11:00 am - December 14 @ 5:00 pm
Napa artist Nancy Willis leads artists to Paris on her annual painting tours to France. Throughout the years, she has tuned in to the ebb and flow of street scenes, watching and recording the light and life of café culture. But after the terrorist attacks in 2015, she felt achingly distant from the familiar rituals of Parisian life. This series of paintings and prints is Willis’ way of reconnecting and honoring the resilience of Paris and its people.
Gallery hours: Thursday – Saturday, 11am to 4pm. Open during Oakland’s First Friday on December 6, 6-8pm. There will be an Artist Talk on Saturday, December 14 at 2pm.

About Artist: Artist Nancy Willis lives and works in the Napa Valley. As a painter/ printmaker she works with themes of intimacy and social connection by creating series such as The BED, RSVP, the CHANDELIER and TERRAIN. With paint or printing ink, Willis uses an additive and subtractive process to explore how color, light and atmosphere can instill meaning and evoke a sense of place. Her work was recently exhibited at the StARTup Art Fairs in LA, Chicago and San Francisco and the With Liberty and Justice for Some exhibit in Berkeley. Willis teaches at the Culinary Institute of America, Napa Valley College, and Nimbus Arts. Her 2015 curatorial project NOURISH at the Napa Valley Museum brought together over 25 artists, 9 chefs and a live stream from the kitchen of a three Michelin starred restaurant in France. Her entrepreneurial projects include Path of an Artist tours, leading artists to France and Sundance for annual painting workshops. Willis’ work resonates with hospitality and can be seen in the Archer Hotel’s permanent collection in Napa.
