Open on First Friday – Dana Zed: New Intaglio
March 1 @ 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm
FreeTransmission Gallery will be open extended hours on First Friday, March 1st, from noon to 8 pm. Stop by to see “Dana Zed: New Intaglio,” a solo exhibition of 11 recent etchings.
Whimsical bird imagery and exuberant patterning come together with a sharp sense of humor in Zed’s new etchings reflecting on common social situations; competition, exclusion, conflicts and hope with titles like “There’s Always Someone on the Other Side,” “Dancing on Eggshells,” and “Over the Rainbow.”
Also on view in the Transmission Gallery Artists’ Showroom are paintings by M. Mark Bauer, Dana DeKalb, Jessica Eastburn, Rachel Kalman, Mac Mechem, Anthony Riggs, Livia Stein, as well as neon art, one of kind jewelry, photographs and sculpture by Suzanne Long, Karl X. Hauser and Ruth Santee. There’s a lot to see so come on out for First Friday in Oakland!
While you’re in the building be sure to check out GearBox Gallery just downstairs.
