Artist’s Reception – Eric Lendl: Game Room

All are welcome to join us for the ​Artist’s Reception, April 22nd from 1-4 pm, free and open to the public. Greet the artist and enjoy the light refreshments on our outdoor deck, weather permitting. This event is free and open to the public, with free street parking nearby.

Stop in April 13 – May 27th to see Game Room, the featured solo exhibition of assemblage works by Eric Lendl at Transmission Gallery Oakland.

Big game? Lendl’s trophy pieces, sporting stereotypically male-associated objects, command the room, overseeing board game haikus.

A resurgence of game nights with actual cards and board games acts as an antidote to the plethora of online gaming and headset relationships. Still, the games we’ve played over the years have a lot to say about capitalism, conscience, and competition! Placed just so, Lendl’s game combinations reveal the unnerving underpinnings of so much family fun while nostalgia and curiosity leaven the social commentary.
